Ethics – Understanding Boundaries

This training is designed to work with clinicians and students in understanding the concepts of Boundaries.  Helping our clients understand boundaries as well as incorporating healthy boundaries in the therapeutic relationship.


Participants will:


·       Acquire knowledge on the types of boundaries (Physical, Emotional, Spiritual, Sexual)

·       Demonstrate an understanding of Healthy Boundaries with clients.

·       Gain understanding of the process of teaching and role modeling healthy boundaries.

·       How to incorporate healthy boundaries in your practice.


Program Content 

Ø  The program will go through and explain the different types of boundaries.

Ø  Applying the various types of boundaries to ourselves.

Ø  Identification of unhealthy boundaries within ourselves and our clients


A pre-test /A power point lecture on Boundaries and how to in utilize it in treatment counseling.

Role playing exercises in small groups.

Time Frame

A six-hour seminar

v  8:30 am – Continental Breakfast

v  9:00 – 12:00 – Understanding the different yes of boundaries.

v  12:00 – 1:00 - Lunch on your own

v  1:00 – 3:00 –  Looking at how to incorporate healthy boundaries in practice

v  3:00 – 4:00 – Role playing in small groups.
